AND THE WINNER IS...?
A Texas native currently signed as the marquee artist for Heavy Green Entertainment, through which he has earned the admiration of fans in New York, Los Angeles, Egypt, Australia, Canada, India and hundreds in between, Bobby placed third at the Core DJ's Retreat in New Orleans this past
weekend. He won for The Top Mics for Virginia .
Although Bobby Capri was born and raised through age seven in Houston, TX, he is not the average Texan rapper. In fact, he was influenced much more significantly by Jay-Z and the late Notorious B.I.G. than Bun B or Paul Wall. At age thirteen, Bobby started rapping as a way to express himself and survive the pressures of childhood. At age fourteen, he moved to Virginia with his mother and three brothers in search of a better life than his father in Texas was willing to provide.
Years of practice and performing later, Bobby decided to leave his 9-5 job to become a professional rapper. Since then, he has rocked audiences alongside the Nappy Roots and many other talented artists. With a style and delivery all his own, Bobby continues to craft complex, rewind-worthy rhymes that reveal increasingly clever wordplay upon repeat listens. He has the style, production and stage presence to captivate mainstream and radio audiences without sacrificing intelligence or street appeal.
